SMR is a hybrid therapy combining Eastern acupoint medicine, neuroscience, and functional movement — designed to resolve complex chronic conditions by addressing their primary causes.

About SMR

Several motor control therapies exist. Neurokinetic Therapy® (NKT) is the most accessible and widely practiced; therapists who master it often progress to Proprioceptive-Deep Tendon Reflex (P-DTR). My path was slightly different… As one of Canada’s first fully qualified NKT practitioners, I chose to develop my own method of identifying faulty proprioceptors rather than travelling monthly to the US for P-DTR training.

From there, SMR evolved through four key advances:

Embedding trauma and stress processing into the core of the therapy, recognizing their central role in all dysfunctional patterns.

Integrating Chinese Medicine Theory and acupoints — which dramatically improved treatment efficiency by tapping into the limbic system’s deep connection to acupoint pathways.

Developing a reverse-engineering method to trace dysfunction back to its source, enabling assessment and treatment of complex functional movements.

Optimizing a technique to assess and treat the Lymphatic and Glymphatic system.
